Milko Bjelica hails from a family keen on sports, with sisters Milka and Ana enjoying professional careers in basketball and volleyball, respectively. His own path began at one of the Belgrade powerhouses, Red Star, making his senior debut during the 2001-02 season. The 29-year-old never stood in the limelight as a junior, but made a name for himself as a reliable option in the low post. Featuring internationally in Eurocup and Euroleague over the past years, including a Eurocup title with Lietuvos rytas in 2009, Bjelica brings invaluable experience to the table. A good finisher around the basket and an efficient team player, the big man has become an important piece in the Montenegro puzzle, first suiting up for the national team for their EuroBasket 2011 campaign.
