Turkey used some stingy defence to top winless Portugal 74-62 in Group F of the EuroBasket Qualification Round.
The hosts broke the game open in the second quarter and held Portugal to 21-of-67 (31.3%) shooting from the field as they improved to 2-1.
Semih Erden scored 19 points and Serhat Cetin added 16 for a Turkey team who took control of the game with a 16-5 run - highlighted by two three-pointers from Cetin - in the second quarter that gave them a 42-31 lead at half-time.
They pulled further clear in the third quarter with a three from Cetin and an alley-oop slam from Ilkan Karaman off Ender Arslan's pass making it 62-46.
Up until then Turkey had held Portugal to a shooting percentage in the mid-20s, and although they grew stronger in the fourth quarter when Turkey turned to their bench, there was no way back for the visitors.
Kerem Gonlum also reached double figures for Turkey with 10 points.
Joao Gomes had 19 points for Portugal with Claudio Fonseca adding 16 and Joao Santos 10.
