Yuliyan Radionov

Career: Spartak Pleven (Bulgaria-Pro A, 1997-99), Chernomorets Burgas (Bulgaria-Pro A, 1999), Tcherno More Varna (Bulgaria-Pro A, 2000-01), Academic Sofia (Bulgaria-Pro A, 2001-…).

A member of the national team since 1999, this reserve point guard played only two games, against Portugal and Israel, during the qualifying round due to an Achilles tendon injury. A difficult start to a frustrating season. Indeed, with Academic Sofia, where he's been playing for four seasons, Yuliyan Radionov got very little playing time, averaging only three minutes per game in the ULEB Cup (0.9 ppg compared to 7.7 ppg in 22 min in 2004). In January, the club even thought about loaning him to Spartak Pleven, but finally preferred keeping him on the roster. With a limited role, he helped Academic win its third national title in a row.
