Having never been a regular member of the Polish roster and having never played at a major tournament, 30-year-old Piotr Szczotka could be the ultimate late bloomer when it comes to shining with the National Team. He has always drifted in and out of the various tiers of Polish basketball throughout his career but more recently has settled down and impressed with his performances with Asseco Prokom in Euroleague last season. He has also performed solidly and won a host of trophies in the Polish league and consequently the forward knows what is needed to compete at the next level. He will bring experience and in particular an additional rebounding and physical presence in the paint to the roster.
