Georgia bounced back from a disappointing Four Nations Cup performance in Tallinn by winning all three games in the Tbilisi Tournament.

The Georgians defeated Belarus, Estonia and Ukraine to build some momentum for the EuroBasket Qualification Round, which gets underway this week.

Manuchar Markoishvili, the Georgia small forward, said: "This tournament was very important and necessary for our team after our losses abroad."

Tornike Shengelia, the Georgia forward who signed a contract to play in the NBA in the coming season with the Brooklyn Nets, said: "From the first game to the third, we've made great progress."

Georgia will play one final friendly in Germany before launching their Qualification Round campaign on 18 August in Tbilisi against Romania.

Jacob Pullen looks set to play as the naturalized member of Georgia's squad this summer.

He had 17 points, five assists and four rebounds in the win over Ukraine.

Belarus Upbeat

Belarus signed off with a 92-84 overtime triumph against Estonia in the Tbilisi event.

They overcame the red-shot shooting of Sten Sokk, who finished with 26 points for Estonia.

Belarus also won their game against Ukraine, 75-65, with Pavel Ulyanko scoring 19 points and Aliaksandr Kudrautsau 16.

Ukraine Struggling

Ukraine's lone win in Tbilisi came against Estonia.

In the 60-49 victory, Kyryl Natyazhko had 18 points and six boards for Mike Fratello's side.

Ukraine will take on Hungary, Austria, Croatia and Cyprus in the EuroBasket Qualification Round.
