Belarus Announce Preliminary Squad

Aliaksandr Kudrautsau is one of three players on the Belarus preliminary squad that played for domestic champions BC Minsk this season

Belarus coach Andrei Krivonos has named his squad that will this summer attempt to reach next year's EuroBasket in Slovenia.

Krivonos, a long-time guard in the national team through the EuroBasket 2007 Division B campaign, steered BC Minsk-2006 to the title in the Belarus Premier League this season.

Minsk competed in the EuroChallenge Regular Season after a dramatic comeback from a 16-point first-leg deficit against Sokhumi.

Three of the Minsk players are in the preliminary squad of Belarus.

They are Aliaksandr Kudrautsau, Aliaksei Lashkevich and Aliaksei Trastsinetski.

Pavel Ulyanko, who celebrated an Estonian title this season with Kalev Cramo, is also in the Belarus squad that will compete in Qualification Round Group F against Turkey, Italy, the Czech Republic and Portugal.

The first game for Belarus is at home against the Czechs on 15 August.

Belarus preliminary squad: Valery Gandlin, Heorhi Kandrusevich, Viachaslau Korzh, Aliaksandr Kudrautsau, Vitali Liutych, Dante Stiggers, Siarhei Charykau, Dzianis Korshuk, Aliaksei Lashkevich, Aliaksei Trastsinetski, Mikita Meshcharakou, Yegor Meshcharakou, Aliaksandr Pustahvar, Dmytro Poleshchuk, Konstantin Yafremov, Pavel Ulyanko, Mikalai Aliakseyeu, Artsiom Parakhouski and Yury Mishukou.
