| 24.08.2012 EUROBASKET QUALIFIERS Bulgaria got back to 2-2 after two straight defeats in Group B of the EuroBasket 2013 Qualification Round and gave their goal average a shot in the arm as they topped Luxembourg 94-68 on the road. Filip Videnov poured in 19 points while collecting six rebounds and six assists, while Hristo Nikolov and Ivan Lilov had 16 points each and Chavdar Kostov 11. Bulgaria began to pull away late in the second quarter, with an 11-3 run to the break turning a five-point margin into a 46-33 lead before half-time. An 8-0 spurt midway through the third period effectively put the result beyond doubt as they went 62-43 up Bozhidor Avramov's jump-shot. Luxembourg scored the first eight points of the fourth quarter thanks to three pointers from Alexandre Rodenbourg and Pitt Koster, but they were only temporarily stopping the charge. When Kostov sank a three with 4:08 left in the game the gap had reached 20, 83-63. Tom Schumacher had 22 points for Luxembourg while Koster added 11. |
