Mikko Koivisto only managed a handful of minutes during the Qualifying Round last summer but showed glimpses of his potential when he finished with 12 points against Latvia, including a perfect three of three from downtown. He is a big and strong shooting guard with a quick release who is happy ripping off screens and taking it to the basket as well as getting his feet set to execute catch and shoot plays. With decent athletic ability in addition to his height, the UNCG graduate is also a competent defender. While he has played just one professional season in the Korisliiga since he finished his NCAA career, EuroBasket 2011 could provide an opportunity to showcase his skills and for him to put himself in the shop window for future years.
