EUROBASKET QUALIFIERS

9. Omri Casspi (Israel)
Omri Casspi was 10-for-12 from the floor and Israel were never threatened on their way to an important road victory in Estonia

A magical contribution from Omri Casspi kept the hopes of Israel alive in EuroBasket Qualification Round Group A after his 26 points laid the foundation for a morale-boosting 84-53 success in Estonia.

Casspi was on fire and tortured the Estonian defence by making ten of twelve from the floor, including three of four from downtown, to go some way to erasing the memory of a painful 88-86 home floor loss to their opponent last month.

With Lior Eliyahu also unstoppable and managing to put up 21 points to add to his 11 boards, Israel cruised to the win having only spent the first five minutes of the contest in arrears.

Once Israel got their noses in front, they never relinquished the lead and put their foot on the gas even more after the break to ensure there was no be no repeat of what happened in Rishon Le Zion.

Even during the closing stages of the game, Israel was intent on really pushing home their advantage, outscoring Estonia 19-6 to ensure the margin of victory was as emphatic as possible.

Alexander Tyus weighed in with an excellent cameo of 10 points and eight rebounds, missing just one shot during the entire game.

Janar Talts had a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds in a losing effort.

Siim-Sander Vene was the only other Estonia player to score in double digits, with 13 points.
