Serbia head coach Dusan Ivkovic has included Milos Teodosic in the 20-strong preliminary squad for EuroBasket 2013 that he announced on Thursday in Belgrade.

The charismatic point guard is currently undergoing rehabilitation for a left calf injury he sustained on 26 May, while playing for CSKA Moscow in the VTB United League play-offs, and is expected to reach full fitness in approximately two months.

Captain Nenad Krstic headlines the list which includes all of Serbia's brightest stars, including Anadolu Efes power forward Dusko Savanovic, who struggled with a back problem during the final stretch of the club season.

The real surprise though is the return of another star forward, Novica Velickovic, to the national team mix.

The 26-year-old last suited up for Serbia at the 2010 World Championship and had been sidelined through injury for almost 10 months, since last year's Spanish ACB finals, when he was still playing for Real Madrid.

He returned to action with Serbian side Mega Vizura in the final stretch of the domestic league, convincing Ivkovic that his physical condition has improved to the point where he should be re-included in the experienced coach's plans.

Ivkovic however has taken the decision to not call up three players that formed part of the national team's core in recent years; guards Milenko Tepic and Aleksandar Rasic and small forward Marko Keselj will not have the chance to travel to Slovenia for the EuroBasket.

Serbia were drawn in First Round Group B at the EuroBasket together with Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, F.Y.R. of Macedonia, Latvia and Lithuania, who will be their opponents in the opener on 4 September.

Serbia's EuroBasket 2013 preliminary squad: Nenad Krstic, Milos Teodosic, Nemanja Bjelica, Rasko Katic, Vladimir Stimac, Vladimir Lucic, Dejan Musli, Stefan Markovic, Vasilije Micic, Nemanja Nedovic, Vladimir Micov, Bogdan Bogdanovic, Danilo Andjusic, Novica Velickovic, Zoran Erceg, Milan Macvan, Dusko Savanovic, Nemanja Dangubic, Stefan Bircevic, Djordje Gagic
