Croatia laid it on thick in the final quarter to run up the score as they routed Cyprus 93-38 to get their EuroBasket qualifying campaign off to a riproaring start.

There was no quarter given by Croatia as they outscored Cyprus 28-3 in the final frame, sinking 13-of-16 field goal attempts in the last 10 minutes, and finishing the game on a 17-1 run.

Even before all of that, the game was long since over as a contest as an 11-0 run that spanned the first and second quarters had put them 20-10 up on Bojan Bogdanovic's free throw, and it was Bogdanovic at the line again to make it 40-23 before half-time.

A three from Luksa Andric made it 63-30 late in the third quarter and coach Jasmin Repesa let his bench join in the party as the game petered out, with the reserves contributing 31 points in all.

Bogdanovic finished with 17 points while Damjan Rudez had 14 and Krunoslav Simon 10.

Anthony King was Cyprus' top scorer with nine.
