|Alexander Tyus' time in Slovenia has come to an early end|
Israel's Alex Tyus is to miss the rest of EuroBasket due to a persistent groin injury, it has been confirmed.
The Maccabi Tel Aviv player revealed he has been advised to rest to alleviate the problem by national team doctors after aggravating the issue during Thursday's 74-67 loss to Ukraine when he was limited to just eight minutes.
This now means the Texas-born centre's tournament is over.
"This is something that's been going on all summer," he said. "It's the first time I've been injured so it's frustrating to go through it. Hopefully I can get it better as soon as possible. One of the main things is that I suffered a groin tear a few weeks ago.
"Now I'm starting to get tendonitis and other things lingering. The main thing is rest and treatments. Hopefully I'll get better as soon as possible."
Israel continues its quest to reach the second round on Friday evening against France.
